Press Release: Dubai, April 6, 2024

ABC Cargo Ramadan

Iftar meals are meant to be shared with family and friends. However, a large portion of the expatriate workforce is far from family and friends. Recognizing this, ABC Cargo, a prominent cargo service provider, organized the distribution of Iftar kits to labor camps in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The initiative was aimed at ensuring that the workers were not without sustenance to break their fast during their arduous working hours.

Iftar meals have long been seen as an opportunity for people to come together fostering a sense of belonging. Consequently, it exemplifies the values of generosity and hospitality that are central to the Eid celebrations. These values are also in alignment with the tradition of ABC Cargo as reflected in the words of Dr Shareef Abdul Khader, chairman of ABC Group of Companies: “The joy and contentment of the workers are our utmost gratification. ABC Cargo prides itself on a rich tradition of social and cultural involvement, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to leveraging our capabilities to provide comfort and happiness, particularly during the month of Ramadan.”

The employees were also seen to be fully immersed in the event, working together to spread a culture of empathy and solidarity. This spirit of inclusivity and compassion among the employees was a significant reason for the resounding success of the event. The joy that the initiative has brought, has further inspired the company to expand its outreach efforts and strengthen its commitment to social responsibility.

In a nutshell, the event was a great success with the management and the employees taking an active part. The prominent cargo service provider also recently organized an Iftar gathering in Sharjah Sajja in addition to the Iftar meals. The event brought together more than 3,000 workers from different backgrounds. The event was generally noted to foster a sense of unity and inclusivity.

In addition to these, the company also provided a special Ramadan offer for those availing of the delivery service. The key highlights of the offer are the discounted rates and the fast transit times (3 to 7 days). The special rates are applicable for parcels of 5kg, 10kg, and 15kg. The offer makes maximum use of the speed and reliability of air freight in Dubai.

ABC Cargo’s dedication to supporting expatriate workers during Ramadan through the distribution of Iftar kits and the organization of inclusive events demonstrates their commitment to social responsibility and community building. By fostering a culture of empathy and solidarity, they not only nourish bodies but also hearts and minds, leaving a lasting impact on those they serve. As they continue to expand their outreach efforts and strengthen their commitment to serving others, ABC Cargo sets a commendable example for corporate social responsibility in the region.
